Me again. This absence has me concerned. I understand if Max is taking a break, and I hope he's well and returns with more Red Meat.
I've been a fan of the strip since 1997. I would log on at an Internet cafe/ coffee shop near work to read weekly installments, courtesy of the Tucson Weekly. I was introduced to the website's BBS, and that was my gateway to the internet: upgrading to a 14.4 modem just to join in. I made a few friends in that community and made the trip to Tucson to meet them and Max in 2000. The first Red Meat website shut down in 2009, then reopened in this current format.
There was a companion site of sorts: http://www.monkeydyne.com/rmcs/buildmeat.h… It's still up but limited to creating DIY strips. Unfortunately you can no longer submit your strips, or view the archives. There were a lot of hilarious strips.
Max, if you read this, I hope you're okay. And hello to Tim, Tyfanie, Peggy, Everett, Mike, and Cher. (Tip of the hat to Cynda and Darren, I miss you.)
