I had not thought of those films. In the early nineteen-sixties, my favorite was "Two Beers Benny." The story showed a man innocently drinking two beers in his favorite bar on the way home from work. Subsequently, he gets caught at a red light where he plans to turn right at the corner where there's a gas station. He turns out of traffic and cuts through the gas station. As he exits into the street, without looking, and he t-bones a passing car, totaling his vehicle and killing the occupants of the other car, similarly totaled.
